7 April, Monsieur Jean Hérault, Baron de Gourville, has today been sentenced to death for embezzlement of public funds. He has become rich as Monsieur Fouquet‘s confidant.
9 April, his Majesty visits the couvent des Minimes de la place Royale for mass. In the afternoon, his Majesty travels to Colombes in company of Monsieur and Madame. There, the royal family enjoys a promenade followed by snacks, offered by his Majesty with “with great magnificence and politeness“.

11 April, their Majesties travel to Versailles for the chase.
17 April, at the Louvre, his Majesty signs the marriage contract of Henri-Albert de Cossé, Duc de Brissac, and Mademoiselle de Saint-Simon, daughter of the Duc de Saint-Simon. François de Rohan, Prince de Soubise, has today wed Anne-Julie de Rohan-Chabot. The beautiful bride is 15 years old and is it the second marriage of the Prince.
19 April, his Majesty travels to Versailles to enjoy the pleasant spring weather in the gardens.
20 April, Monsieur de Lionne is sworn in by his Majesty as new secrétaire d’État aux Affaires étrangères, the position was formerly held by the Comte de Brienne, who had resigned at the start of the month.
23 April, his Majesty has today been informed by the Marquis de Grémonville that the marriage of his Majesty’s cousins, the Duc de Savoie and Françoise-Madeleine d’Orléans, has successfully been consummated.
28 April, their Majesties, in the grand-cabinet of the Queen-Mother, sign the contract of engagement and attend the engagement ceremony of Armand de Bautru, Comte de Nogent, and Diane-Charlotte de Caumont de Lauzun.
