7 December, his Majesty receives Monsieur Vincenzo Striggi-Gonzaga, the ambassador of the Duc de Mantoue.
8 December, conception de la Vierge Marie, their Majesties attend a sermon by the évêque de Dax at the chapel of the Louvre.
9 December, their Majesties visit the chapel of the Louvre for a sermon of the évêque de Dax.
10 December, the royal family gathers to witness the signing of the contract of marriage between Monsieur le Duc d’Enghien and the Princesse Palatine, Anne-Henriette Julie de Bavière. Afterwards, their Majesties invite to a comedie, followed by snacks and a ball to celebrate the signing of the marriage contract.
11 December, the royal family and the court attend the marriage of Monsieur le Duc d’Enghien and the Princesse Palatine, Anne-Henriette Julie de Bavière, at the chapel of the Louvre. The newly wed Duc and Duchesse d’Enghien invite to the hôtel de Condé for a comedie and supper, consiting of six courses.
12 December, their Majesties recieve the Duc d’Enghien, who has come to offer his gratitude.
13 December, their Majesties visit the newly wed Duc and Duchesse d’Enghien at the hôtel de Condé.
15 December, his Majesty rides to Sainte-Chapelle for mass and the adoration of the Cross, after which his Majesty proceeds to the Parlement for a lit de justice in presence of the Ducs et Pairs de France. Monsieur de Noailles (Anne de Noailles), the Marquis de Montclar, has been lifted to the ranks of Ducs et Pairs de France and received, by the grace of his Majesty, the title of Duc de Noailles.
17 December, their Majesties, in company of Monsieur and Madame, attend a sermon of the évêque de Dax at the chapel of the Louvre.
19 December, it is whispered Mademoiselle de La Vallière gave birth to a son today. Everything took place in great secrecy, but not with enough secrecy to prevent talk. The child was, it is said, given to the Colberts at once.
23 December, their Majesties attend a sermon by the évêque de Dax at the chapel of the Louvre.
24 December, his Majesty attends mass at the Église Sainte-Anne-la-Royale, after which he returns to the Louvre and attends the three Christmas masses.
25 December, their Majesties travel to Saint-Germain-l’Auxerrois for a sermon of Pére de Laméche and evensong.

Who or what is the eveque du Dax? I don’t remember reading it before.
It sounds more like a title to me than a name.

A évêque is a Bishop. It’s just the French word for Bishop and archevêque is the word for Archbishop. The Bishop of Dax at that time was Guillaume Le Boux.
